Painting is how I interpret my constantly changing perceptions of the world. I am interested in documenting the human experience through a cinematic lens, as well as the beautiful details of life that often go unnoticed. Painting these quiet moments, both present and past, allows me to investigate and understand them.

The sources for my images come primarily from photos taken by myself, from my childhood, or “found” photos. It intrigues me that photographs often become stand-ins for our actual memories, referring in our mind to these images instead of recalling the event itself. Collaging in reclaimed fabric provides another way to tangibly connect with those memories and bring them into the present.

My paintings invite the viewer into a world of quiet introspection and intimacy. Some frequently visited topics are memory, childhood, solitude, and nostalgia in a modern world.
